What Is an Ultra Bernedoodle?
An Ultra Bernedoodle is a Bernedoodle with a higher percentage of Bernese Mountain Dog than a traditional 50/50 Bernedoodle. They are typically produced by pairing a Bernese Mountain Dog with a carefully selected multigenerational Bernedoodle.
The goal is to preserve more of the classic Bernese Mountain Dog appearance and characteristics families love while still incorporating desirable Bernedoodle traits. Because every pairing is genetically unique, coat type, shedding, size, structure, and temperament can vary. Ultra Bernedoodle Size & Coat
“Ultra” describes the higher Bernese Mountain Dog influence in the pairing, not a specific size. Ultra Bernedoodles can be produced in different size ranges depending on the parents used. Adult size is always an estimate, and puppies within the same litter can mature differently.
Coats can also vary from puppy to puppy. Depending on the genetics inherited from each parent, an Ultra Bernedoodle may have a straighter, wavy, or curlier coat and may vary in the amount it sheds. This is why we evaluate coat genetics and the individual pairing rather than promising that every Ultra Bernedoodle will have the same coat type.
