Why Choose O’Hearon’s Amazing Puppies?
Thoughtfully bred. Family raised. Lifetime support.
Choosing a breeder is about much more than finding the cutest available puppy. You’re choosing the program behind that puppy — the health decisions, early care, socialization, transparency, and support that begin long before go-home day.
O’Hearon’s Amazing Puppies is a small, family-based Bernedoodle program in Saratoga Springs, Utah. We focus on raising healthy, confident family companions through thoughtful breeding decisions, hands-on puppy development, and honest communication with our families.
Health & Genetics Come First
Beautiful puppies matter, but health, temperament, and structure come before color.
Our breeding decisions are guided by genetic testing, breed-appropriate health evaluations, pedigree, temperament, structure, size, coat traits, and how well two dogs complement one another.
We believe families should be able to ask questions about the health and genetics behind their puppy and receive clear answers.
Raised in Our Home
Our puppies are raised as part of our everyday family life rather than growing up disconnected from normal household experiences.
From an early age, they experience appropriate handling and interaction while gradually being introduced to the sights, sounds, routines, and experiences they’ll encounter as family dogs.
Our goal isn’t simply to raise puppies until they’re old enough to leave.
It’s to give them a strong foundation for the life waiting for them.
Intentional Early Puppy Development
The first eight weeks matter.
Our puppies receive age-appropriate early development and socialization that may include:
-
ENS and ESI
-
Daily handling
-
Different people and children
-
Household sounds
-
Various surfaces and environments
-
Grooming and nail-care introduction
-
Crate introduction
-
Potty-training foundations
-
Early recall and engagement work
-
Car exposure
-
Appropriate interaction with safe animals
-
Confidence-building experiences
Every puppy develops at their own pace, so experiences are introduced thoughtfully rather than overwhelming them.
We Look Beyond Color
We understand why families fall in love with traditional tricolor markings, merle coats, beautiful rust, or blue eyes.
We love beautiful dogs too.
But appearance is only one part of choosing the right puppy.
We also consider temperament, confidence, energy level, sociability, sensitivity, structure, expected size, coat traits, and your family’s lifestyle.
A beautiful puppy is wonderful.
A beautiful puppy who actually fits your family is even better.
Veterinary Care Before Go-Home
Our puppies receive age-appropriate preventive care before joining their new families.
Depending on age and veterinary guidance, this includes documented deworming and parasite care, vaccinations, a pre-go-home veterinary examination, and microchipping.
Families receive written health information so they know what has already been completed and what their veterinarian should continue after go-home.
2-Year Health Guarantee
Every OAP family receives a written puppy contract that includes our 2-year genetic and congenital health guarantee.
We want families to understand what they’re agreeing to before their puppy goes home — not discover important terms afterward.
Our contracts, health records, and puppy-care information are designed to create clear expectations for both OAP and our families.
Honest Expectations
One of the most important parts of responsible breeding is being honest about what cannot be guaranteed.
We can make educated predictions based on genetics, parents, previous offspring, development, and experience.
But we will never promise that:
-
a puppy will mature to one exact adult weight
-
blue eyes will remain unchanged
-
a dog will never shed a single hair
-
markings will look exactly the same as the puppy matures
-
every puppy will have exactly the same personality as its siblings
-
Dogs are living animals, not manufactured products.
We would rather give you realistic expectations than make promises genetics cannot guarantee.
Thoughtful Puppy Matching
Families have different lifestyles.
Some want an active hiking companion. Others are looking for a calmer family dog. Some have young children, other dogs, demanding work schedules, or particular size and coat preferences.
That’s why we want to learn about you.
We consider your family, lifestyle, preferences, and the individual puppies before helping you choose your match.
Support Doesn’t End at Pickup
Go-home day isn’t goodbye.
OAP families can reach out with questions as their puppy settles in and grows.
We also love receiving adult updates because real-life outcomes — including size, coat, shedding, temperament, and health, help us learn from every litter and make better future breeding decisions.
